I hate JD Vance as much as the next guy, but at what point does this become a 25th Amendment situation?

Ngl I think we are stuck having Trump until he dies. There’s no way he willingly gives up power because his ego won’t allow him to do so

I don’t see the rest of the cabinet voting him out. Trump is their useful idiot

After J6 it was a 25th amendment scenario. The fact he wasn’t removed and got to run again is incredulous

Yeah I think that’s exactly why it didn’t get invoked against Biden and it won’t get invoked against Trump

but it is still like “come on man we have a specific Constitutional provision JUST FOR THIS, USE IT!”

Biden’s cabinet was probably simply in denial, although I’m not ruling that out here either

I don’t think his cabinet was simply in denial, I think they made a choice to act as a shadow government behind a clearly dementia-addled figurehead because it was easy. The Democratic Party at large played ignorance to the public, but I don’t think Biden’s closest advisors were somehow ignorant of his state considering it was already an issue during the 2020 election.

Well if the 25th were invoked it would be out of his hands, but yeah I absolutely agree that if it IS in his hands, he’ll never let it go.

Mm possibly, although he did seem pretty good at least through 2022

I mean, that is how a cult of personality works. If Trump falls, the entire movement falls. Who do they have who could genuinely replace Trump? Vance? Miller? They have nobody who could draw even a fifth of the energy Trump draws

If I was in a cabinet position behind a dementia-addled President but my department was still getting the things I wanted done, then I’d let the old man sit in the chair and continue going about my business. And I think that’s exactly what happened.

I think they may have struck gold with Erika Kirk unfortunately. But realistically, they’re probably banking on Vance after he gets some media training

Nah, Vance doesn’t have even a quarter of the energy. He’s the fucking VP, he has already had media training by this point. Vance just isn’t an exciting person and doesn’t have a personality. Fuck Trump, but Trump has a personality

Erika Kirk is nothing but the wife of an attempted martyr, which I think failed anyways
