Poland just shot down a Russian drone which violated Polish airspace. If Russia responds and interprets their defense of sovereignty as a provocation, do you think the UN will trigger Article 5 (Collective Defense), thus plunging us into WW3?

The UN can’t trigger it, a NATO member can. Poland could already trigger it rn if they wanted to, tbh

Yea but I don’t think Trump will honor it, not for any morally superior reasons, purely because he won’t be able to suck off Putin anymore if he does.

Sorry, I meant no. I doubt article 5 will be triggered considering this isn’t the first time Russia has violated Polish airspace in this war. Maybe an actual invasion or armed confrontation would but even then, I think everyone would want to deescalate first.

This is the first time in a while that they shut down some of the airports and issued a shelter in place order though, so something unprecedented happened
