Not to mention the fact that they don’t know what the constitution is nor its contents, tf is a constitutional privilege?

Nah I get the point, the ability to get those things for yourself is a right. To have them provided to you is a privilege.

The point of a society is to force others to provide for you?

It’s to provide for each other…

Then don’t live in a society bc that is actually the point.

But the people providing don’t have a choice when donating their labor to others… so it’s forced. It’s fine if you think that’s cool, I get the logic behind it, but it is forced labor.

Do you agree with capitalism then? Bc you’re giving your labor to the ceo everyday. What does the ceo do for you???

Yeah. It’s providing the fruits of you labor, if you want to or not (forced), to things that may or may not benefit you. Not saying good or bad, just saying you don’t have a choice.

You’re okay with giving your labor to a multimillionaire company owner but not poor people who need help? Okay I get it babe..

Are you misunderstanding me girl? It’s not a choice if you die without it?

The multimillionaire is paying me for my labor… I wouldn’t get any money without them. It’s a mutually beneficial relationship. I get nothing from providing the fruits of my labor to others.

You’re right bc we live in a society where my needs would be provided for….which you’re against. So if I didn’t live in a society and I didn’t have a job then yes, I would die.

Yeah but it’s not a choice to give the fruits of my labors to others through taxes if I do work a job. So I have a choice if I work, but then I don’t have a choice of where a significant portion of the money I receive actually goes, because it doesn’t go to me even if I wanted it to; therefore, x amount of the time I spent at work was forced labor.

But the multimillionaire isn’t doing anything besides owning stuff and having money and he’s stealing a cut of your labor. Why not have publicly owned businesses where you get the compensated for all of your labor.

It’s “forced labor” bc I don’t get to choose how much my employer takes from me.

They started the company and provided me resources to maximize the efficiency of my labor ultimately resulting in me making more money than I ever could have by myself with the level of labor I am currently outputting. Also many businesses are public companies and you can buy portions of them.

How the fuck is what I said “not forced labor” but what the other person said is??? I don’t get to choose how much or who I give my cut of labor to even at my job. There’s no way I can even vote on anything to decide where my money goes in the company. Sure I “chose” to work, but you’re “choosing” to live in a society and you can vote and participate in a democratic system that dictates where our taxes go

You actively chose to work there and have other options if you don’t want to work there, work for others, work for yourself, etc. You don’t actively have a choice in the govt taking however much money they decided to invest whatever spending bill went through the system because wherever you work or whatever you do they will take a cut of it and you will go to jail if you don’t pay it. Therefore, forced.

I can see I’m not getting through to you and you can be a capitalist loving person all you want. I believe that there should be a democratic process in every form of labor and the means of production should not be privatized bc yes you do have to work to live. So it’s forced too bc if you don’t work, you die. (Or benefit from public funding which apparently you’re not a fan of) so whatever girl!!!!

There is a democratic form in public companies, you vote on company decisions and appointments if you have a stake in the company (own shares). I also don’t consider not having others provide for you as you being forced to labor.

So it’s either you’re forced to work for yourself or forced to work for others. Personally I think a 1:1 return of labor to yourself is quite literally as fair as you can get.

The point of government is to keep people alive and civil can’t do that if you don’t provide them the necessary resources

Depends on the government. Government of Sparta’s main goal was to conquer through military strength and control the large population of helots, Nazi Germany was promoting racial purity and total control of society, the Papal States were to protect the political power of the Pope and enforce religion. To say the main point of govt is to keep people alive and civil is a very limited view of govts throughout history. Govts just do whatever the people on power want them to do.

In fact most modern day government’s goals were not to keep people ‘alive and civil’

Civil meaning regulated both socially, physically, and economically. The govs in question all prioritized the lives of those they valued but that was still a priority.
