A republic cannot operate without said democratic values. It is a system controlled by the people electing representatives to vote for them.

Yes we tell people to vote for us which is dependent on the number of seats they hold in the house yes.

Do you think a vote in New Jersey hold more value than a vote in California?

No bc I just proved my point in true democracy everyone’s vote has a say truly. In our system we rely on our senators who hold seats based on representative population.

No, they’re both solid blue states. The blue vote is disproportionately stronger. The only time your vote matters is if you live in a swing state

Nobody says democracy in this context and means direct democracy. They mean democracy as in the democratic principles that exist within a republic

My point is that votes in states are weighted completely differently certifying the fact we are a republic with democratic values. We are a tú lic above all else because of our voting system the electoral college. Without them we are a true democracy

You mean a direct democracy.. the democracy that the Ancient Greeks had isnt known to us but they called it democracy. Saying a republic isn’t a democracy is different and implies that a republic has no democratic system.

In the definition of a republic democratic values are defined

And I’m saying it’s not interchangeable because the election processes while similar are different. If you refer to the US as a republic it’s proper political organization then things make more sense.

I get where you are coming from. The us 1000000000% has democratic values that it hold dear. Democracy exists is republic absolutely but republic does not exist in democracy does that make sense. Movies can say whatever but facts are facts
