NO ONE IS COMPARING KIRK TO THE PEOPLE ON THE FUCKING LIST. OP IS SAYING THAT BEING A FATHER AND A HUSBAND DOES NOT MAKE YOU A GOOD PERSON BY GIVING EXAMPLES OF PEOPLE WHO WERE FATHERS AND HUSBANDS BUT WERE ULTIMATELY SHOT BC THEY WERE BAD PPL WHO DID BAD THINGS. THEY’RE NOT MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE!!!!!!!! USE YOUR FUCKING BRAINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Funny, I missed the part where Charlie Kirk hit the twin towers with planes, invaded Kuwait, orchestrated the holodomor, helped run the holocaust, ran the Japanese empire during World War Two, lead a bloody coup in Chile, or orchestrated the Congo “Free State” Stop comparing men to monsters to justify atrocities. It makes you look like one yourself
How do idiots always manage to miss the point so badly? All they’re saying is that pointing out the fact that Kirk was a husband and a father means absolutely nothing. And if that’s the best you can come up with to justify why everyone should grieve him, then that says a whole damn lot more about him than you realize
No, this is just another example of jumping to extreme comparisons and throwing out extreme buzzwords to bring a conversation to a grinding halt. People are mentioning being a father/husband as just an element to Kirk’s life. Kirk never killed anyone or was never a politician directly impacting policy. He was just a social media/political commentator. He wasn’t in the same lane as these people so it seems irrelevant to compare them on a broad scale.
That is the point and I get that but they tend to use comparing people who are not on the same side as them as a way to justify it when that person does. And that is usually the situation with posts like these. I hope that you are right in that OP wasn’t being a snarky leftist trying to justify a political assassination on someone who was exercising first amendment rights but usually but unfortunately from what I’ve seen, 9/10 times they are
i understood it as them saying “being a father/husband doesn’t automatically make you a good person”. i’m sorry you’ve had that experience elsewhere but it seems that OP is simply trying to point out the hypocrisy in the argument “but he was a father & a husband!” there’s a difference between justifying his death & discussing the kind of person he was. OP didn’t say anything about justifying his death, everyone assumed that.
