You just know if these headlines came from a majority nonwhite country, a bunch of fat greasy dudes would be commenting “culture ☕️” but instead those fat greasy dudes are doing 25 for shooting a six year old though their closed front door. Sick society.

Those headlines wouldn't be coming out of the majority nonwhite countries not because it doesn't occur but because you can't sensationalize it in the media the same way you can here.

I know it’s an AI overview but like… cmon? This is objectively true. No nation has as much random gun violence motivated by fear. Not just GUN VIOLENCE, Dumbass. Not fucking armed conflicts. Random gun violence motivated by fear. Yeah I see you tryna slip in “oh well 70k died in Sudan-“ listen to what I’m saying.

Multiple people shot or beaten to death over a wrong turn and this jackass #1 is out here arguing fucking semantics lmao. How hard is it to just be like wow, that’s really bad that innocent people are dying like this over such small things.

There is no country on planet earth that has as much random gun violence entirely motivated by fear as America. This is a very uniquely American problem. Sure, gun violence definitely happens in nonwhite countries. But not usually because they’re so isolated they’re scared when people knock on their fucking door.

Is that something you can actually prove or just an assumption?

There have been upwards of 70k killed in Sudan with guns in a number of days I just find that hard to believe

I mean you can literally just google it

Google what exactly?

That doesn't prove any type of motivation

You're saying you know the cause to be fear which largely is not the case

30 seconds ago you just tried to pass off a major conflict in Sudan as random gun violence I don’t think you have the room to be a nitpicky dork.

"Gun violence" is mostly suicide and when you look specifically at gun homicide it is mainly contributed to factors like gang violence, socioeconomic inequality, or mental illness. "Random gun violence motivated by fear" is not a large contributor, let alone the main cause, at least as far as I'm aware

Did I say it was a main cause?

Why not talk about the main causes if you want to tackle the issue of gun violence?

Because that’s not what I’m currently talking about?

You think out of 70k killed with guns, that an insignificant amount was random violence caused by fear?

I’m not talking about broader gun violence I’m talking about this very American specific brand of gun violence, where people shoot innocent people out of fear, because they assume anyone wandering their lawn or looking suspicious/confused is here to sexually assault them and kidnap their children.

Because it seems like you're fine with the implication that it would be with the US without any real backing to that claim

It’s very clear you’re here with an agenda in mind, and you want to be having a different conversation, because so far you’ve constructed two straw men of my argument and then insisted that I should actually be talking about something else. If you want to talk about gun violence broadly, or assumedly, deaths in Sudan, go fuckin make your own post about it dork.

Stop coming to my post, which is very clearly about this very specific thing, and trying to cram it into the shape of a totally different conversation that is only tangentially related.

The Sudan thing was specifically addressing the claim that there is no other country that experiences this violence

Right because for some reason you thought I was talking about anyone killed with a gun. Which is, yk. Silly.

I still think that if you can take a broad number of America having higher gun violence and assume that we have more random gun violence motivated by fear I can do the same with Sudan

So you think that my argument hinges on the idea America has more gun violence broadly?

Sudan is a literal fucking civil war. They said “entirely motivated by fear,” clearly not referring to armed paramilitary groups. It’s like trying to argue that England in the 90s had the most fear-driven car bombings by bringing up the IRA
