Yeah I really don’t get why people act like the 4th is the epitome of our independence. It was the day the letter was signed. The British didn’t see it for another month. The foundations of our legal systems weren’t written for another several years We didn’t gain independence for another several years. So many days to celebrate our independence, but I feel we chose the most meaningless one
