Of course conservatives are outraged that Mamdani eats with his hands. How do you eat burgers? Tacos? Fries? Pizza? Chicken wings? Yeah that’s what I thought. Sit the fuck down.

Ah yes, typical liberal ignorance grouping entire worldviews into a single category that of COURSE applies to everyone. Dumbass. I’m a conservative and whenever I eat with my Pakistani or Indian friends I’m not outraged lmao. It’s good ass food. How people eat is not a political thing but you’ve made it one.

I get why that rep’s comment upset you-it was ignorant and offensive. But I don't think it's fair to say every Republican thinks that way just because one person said it. Every party has people who say dumb or extreme things, but that doesn't mean they speak for everyone in the group. It's better to judge individuals based on what they believe and say, not assume guilt by association.

“Of course conservatives are outraged” is not the same as saying “of course every conservative is outraged.” If conservatives didn’t want to be called out for it, maybe elected officials who functionally represent the party shouldn’t have made a fuss over it. It’s not unfair or an exaggeration to call that out because they are quite literally the face of the party lol

Let’s look at your logic from another perspective. Asif Ali Zardari is the leader of Pakistan and very corrupt (1st hand from Pakistani friend). So do you think every Pakistani is also corrupt because their leader is? “It’s not unfair or an exaggeration to call that out because they are quite literally the face of the party lol”.

Anonymous replying to -> #9 11w

That’s not an equal comparison lmao. You’re using a leader from a political party, in this case the Pakistan People’s Party, to represent a whole ethnicity. I would say he accurately represents everyone in his party, because that is a demographic you chose to be a part of. To use an American for this, I’d say Trump represents the Republican Party, but not America as a whole.

Fair point. I should have clarified I meant the people that voted for him. Often, people vote for people based on promises made by a single person (like many did for Trump). I will say, regardless of who we vote for in the US, there will be things they say, do, or promote that doesn’t 100% fit with every person in that group. That’s what I’m trying to get at.

To bring it back to Gill, I’d dat he accurately represents Republicans, but not all Texans, because being a Texan isn’t necessarily something you choose to be a part of. Simply being Pakistani doesn’t mean you choose to agree with how Zardari leads to country, but id Pakistan People’s Party I’d say it’s fair to criticize that group as a whole based on the actions of their elected officials.

This somewhat aligns with my point. What I’m gathering from this post is that Gill’s opinion on how to eat food is being applied to the entirety of republicans (and geographically, Texans) which just isn’t true and is comparable to generalizing all (geographically) Pakistani people as supporters of Zardari’s corruption.

I’m not in agreement because you believe applying a generalization to republicans as a whole isn’t justified when it most certainly is when it’s elected representatives in the party making the offenses. The same thing applies to democrats, it’s not just me libbing out here lol. You think generalizing political ideology and ethnicity is comparable when it isn’t. Thats my point here

The difference is that I don’t generalize democrats for offenses made by their representatives, because a representative was elected for a specific region and thus may accurately describe those people, but not across the nation. Trump doesn’t represent the ideology of all republicans. Biden doesn’t represent the ideology of all democrats. Also, for the last time, I’ve already corrected myself. I am not comparing ideology with ethnicity. I’m not going to keep repeating that dude, just read lmao.

Why would the left have a problem with him eating with his hands?? His wife is literally Indian. He can follow her culture if he wants. It’d be a problem if he condemns people for eating with their hands but then he does it himself. That’s hypocrisy. Brandon Gill’s wife is Indian as well. Him saying people should be deported for eating with their hands is being a hypocrite since people in his family literally do that. So they be deported too.
