Imagine a high-profile person released a false, defamatory statement about you that became widely known. Jobs wouldn’t hire you and people wouldn’t associate with you due to that claim. That’s money and relationships lost. Even if it’s not high-profile, it could still have a large impact on multiple aspects of your life.
