Occam’s Razor doesn’t mean “pick the explanation that blames the most convenient person.” It means the explanation that requires the fewest new assumptions is most likely. Saying “Dave Taylor did it” actually adds more assumptions: that he’s secretly a Nazi, that he’d risk his career by hanging a swastika in his own office, and that he’d then call the cops on himself to fake deniability. The simpler claim is just that someone else with access (staff, visitor, prankster, etc.) did it.
