Btw, the “no tax on tips” thing that just passed through the senate isn’t supposed to empower the working class. It unanimously passed because it’s anti-union and reinforces deeply rooted issues surrounding employment. Politicians don’t care about you.
Full disclosure; I have about zero knowledge on this outside of having been a waitress in the past, but I feel like that cost would end up taking a deeper cut out of server’s tips to go toward the business. Is that realistic?

If you mean businesses directly taking money from the servers that otherwise would’ve been taxed, probably not. There are many issues and implications with this, but I don’t think that’s going to be one of them.
