Hey liberals, wasn’t your guy the president when the US dollar lost 20% of its value in a year and then we had a recession????

You guys decided to print like 25% of the current circulating money supply and then bail out the regional banks with even more money in 23.

Regional banks are having more issues btw. No it’s not trumps fault.

And Trump is trying to bail out beef prices with 40 billion dollars in foreign beef? How do you think the beef ranchers whom I work on their lands feel about this? I’ll give you a hint, they’re not fucking happy. Oh and by the way, two trillion dollars to Israel because fuck it why not 🫡

I don’t like Israel actually I think the money to them is dumb. And the 40 billion for beef imports will stabilize prices in that market. If you look at feeder cattle futures, they are down 12ish% after that announcement which means the market expects beef and other meat products to be cheaper. There are more consumers than farmers, this helps more than it hurts.

So it’ll stabilize the market, at the cost of whom? Oh wait, American ranchers. Again, why the beef ranchers I’ve worked on the land of have out of nowhere ranted about how they’re getting fucked by the government. What happened to America first? It’s how Argentina first? We’d rather outsource our problems instead of finding ways to solve them here?

It’s America first because even though the ranchers get hurt in the short term (~1% or 3 million Being VERY generous with that number) population, the 10s millions of Americans that consume beef on a regular basis get cheaper food. Which is more important rn considering that snap benefits run out Saturday.

Right, so America first also means producing things in other countries (like china) to keep costs lower for the American consumer instead of tarriffing the shit out of them, right? Hmmmmm…

“But wait! Producing things in America is better for the country in general!” Let’s think about this. Take pocket knives for example. I can buy a spyderco pocket knife manufactured in china for ~$70. I can also buy and American-made spyderco for ~$150. Why is the American-made product more expensive? Cost of labor. How do we solve that problem? Hiring more workers will just increase overhead, increasing prices. Therefore the only solution would be… decreasing wages.

The overall idea of America first is to act in the interest of the American people as a whole. That includes keeping prices low. That includes producing things on home soil. Sometimes you have to sacrifice one for the other. Tariffs work in favor of the American people by incentivizing the re-shoring of manufacturing or making trade deals.

Or your could decrease overhead costs via automation and production efficiency or deregulation requiring less administrative staff.

Dawg ain’t no way you just suggested automation as a way to support American workers 😭 Yeah sure, let’s just replace every factory job with robots and white collar jobs with AI, surely that will help the American workers instead of hurting them. And deregulation? Yeah sure! Let’s let oil companies leak free product into our groundwater and soil with zero remediation, and let’s let train cars loaded with dangerous chemicals derail freely because fuck administrative roles am I right?

Free information; tons of oil wellheads are literally drilled in the middle of fucking crop and oil fields. You thought Tylenol was bad… how about consuming volatile organic compounds in high dosages in food products containing corn. Yummyyyyy

But you’re right, I’m just a woke lib for wanting to protect Americans from cancer and other diseases by eating corn and other crops contaminated with O&G products. Let’s just go ahead and say epidurals cause autism instead.

I suggested automation as a way to cut overhead not a way to benefit the America worker. Also deregulation doesn’t entail letting oil companies dump byproducts into the ground. You have a problem with every solution, that may be viable so how about you suggest one. Stop being disingenuous and twisting my words and my points. I’m giving you solutions to the problem you presented.

They’d get cheaper food if we excluded Brazilian beef from the 50% tariffs. Why haven’t we done that? They’re a major beef exporter

I have a problem with every solution because your solutions don’t align with the same values pushed by conservatives and maga. Aka, I’m holding you accountable to what was promised. You think RFK would is pro-volatile organic compounds in food? Seems you’re finding out that with the approaches the current administration is taking, they can’t cover all the bases they promised to cover. That’s not being disingenuous, that’s showing you the hypocrisy of promises that were made that can’t be kept.

Also, deregulation absolutely means letting oil companies dump (although it’s more like unintentional leaking) byproducts into the ground. The only reason my state prevents it is because of REGULATIONS passed on the state level. Without them in place, you really think oil companies would take on the massive expense of hiring consulting companies, paying for their labor and supplies, just out of the goodness of their hearts?
