The amount of people who think universal healthcare would mean forcing/enslaving health care workers is insane, they’d still be getting paid and be CHOOSING to work, you just won’t have to pay insane healthcare premiums

This isn’t a criticism of socialized healthcare, this is a criticism of declaring a positive right to healthcare. If a society declares healthcare as a positive right, the state must secure that right, even when there are not enough willing providers. In practice, that can push governments toward compelling labor, capping professional autonomy, or restricting where physicians can work. Something similar is happening in Cuba already.

My father is a public defender. Every American has a right to one if they are accused of a crime. Somehow no one is forcing him to work. He works out of his own free will.
