California prop 13 is incredibly stupid It means that your boomer neighbor who bought their house in 1990 only has to pay taxes on the $200,000 it was worth back then, not the $1.8 million it’s worth now.

prop 13 is the reason my elementary school didn’t have a building (all of my neighbors had pools)

Repealing it would require additional tax reform or relief but I think that’s ok 🤔 Like scaling it per year so you don’t suddenly owe $10,000 more.
