How do you get over the ick of not wanting to vote for either candidate and voting for the less of two bad candidates instead? Doing research and lowkey don't wanna vote for either (not specifying) but I know it'll be worse if I don't vote at all

i think about all the less visible damage a bad government official can do. like for instance there’s a big difference between “guy who doesn’t increase increase SNAP funding” and “guy who cuts SNAP funding”

I'm not saying because I'm not asking for opinions. I will do my research and vote, and if I feel my research is inadequate, I won't vote uneducated. The thing is, if neither candidate would be *good,* but one isn't as bad as the other, it's better to vote for them than not vote and let the other win. Still, the uncertainly (at a minimum) for both candidates makes it difficult to do that and I don't want to make any mistakes morally or logically

It's difficult when they're not on the same level. From what I've heard (still researching in case my information is wrong) it's "person 1 is a bad person but can person 2 handle the job?" it's not really even ground yeah ones not a bad person but if they can't do a good job (idk if they can I'm new to all this) then it could cause issues

its very hard to say without knowing who it is or what the office is but politicians rarely make decisions alone, usually they are very much guided by party and allies

if it is senate or representatives chances are they’ll just vote w their party most of the time so the question is which party more than which person

It's governer but I'm not saying which state because I know if I name drop candidates I'll get biased answers (maybe not from you but from others) and I'm not looking for "who should I vote for". Idk if that changes your answer, knowing which position it is

but one thing to think about is governors get to appoint lots of state gov officials

that’s a decision largely dictated by party and policy priorities

I feel like I don't know enough to say. I've heard stuff from family so it does fuck with my head, even though I can't figure out if it's true or not. Also my dumbass doesn't know what half those positions are. As im looking up candidates I'm looking up what some of their positions even are

Oh okay. I thought you were asking so you could give your thoughts 😅 sorry I have enough bias in my own household and I don't want to be hounded to vote one way or another. I want to try and do my own research and make my best educated vote without bias
