Israel isn’t a group of people it’s a state, I think Israelis have a right to life like everyone else does, but states don’t really have a “right to exist” in remotely the same way.

It has nothing to do with the statement at face value, all sayings/buzz-phrases like this carry underlying sentiment as well, and that’s what people have a problem with. It’s the same as going “What, you have a problem with the statement ‘All Lives Matter’, do you think some don’t?”
