Finish the sentence: The US Democratic Party is—The Democrats are super right on economics and the military, but compared to alot of Central/ European, Eastern European, and Balkan countries, the Democrats would have a left of center stance on immigration and LGBT stances, which should count for something in the final analysis.
That’s what I’ve said with more words. Either way the “science” of this issue has been negatively impacted by politics though. We’ve seen people bury studies that might aren’t politically acceptable and researchers face consequences if they publish in a way that doesn’t align with the universities political values.
I said I disagreed with not publishing? We need all information to make an informed and data-backed opinion. But don't pretend like republicans are somehow pro science. They deny climate change. They deny trans people exist. They deny vaccines. They deny that race and gender are social constructs. And unless there is clear and consistent evidence, the government should not be involved in private healthcare decisions.
Whether gender or race is a social construct is entirely dependent on how you define the words it’s not something you can prove or disprove empirically. There is unwarranted skepticism of climate change amoung conservatives but I’m not familiar with people refusing to publish like we see here.
