OMG guys Greg Abbott sent the fucking Texas Rangers to Chicago to get the democrats who left!!! wtf 🤬 Oh wait… that was Kate Brown, the Democrat governor of Oregon. Who not only threatened to arrest republicans, she sent the police to go and get them

OP here. Can you name any of these Texas dems? Without looking them up?

Nope. Saw him on my TikTok feed yesterday. I remembered him because his hair lowkey looks like Mike Johnson’s. Next question please.

Here’s a question. Why is Oregon gerrymandering okay but Texas isn’t?

Because it’s not nearly as bad, and Texas’ *current* map is held up in court. The proposed one is even worse

“It’s not nearly as bad” you say as they’re both given a grade of F

Question for you: why is it necessary to redraw districts when a new census hasn’t been conducted? What’s wrong with the 2021 districts, from the Republican POV (besides the fact they look like this)

D and F are the same color. Oregon gets a D, Texas already has an F.

I’m not defending Oregon at all btw, they should have had theirs done by an independent committee

The disparity between Oregons vote share and the # of districts represented by the GOP is larger than the vote share and Dem districts in Texas. It’s just not as noticeable because Texas as bigger But to answer your question, I actually don’t support what Texas is doing. I want all states to have fair maps, even if that means my preferred candidates don’t always win

Great, so why do you act like “name one Texas senator” is a gotcha?

I admit I didn’t expect you to know one (still not convinced you didn’t just look him up though) But I just laugh at the irony of Dems clutching their pearls about gerrymandering when Dem states are some of the most gerrymandered

I mean if we look at the map above, it doesn’t seem like it is. Most of the south has an F rating

That map is biased. Louisiana was literally forced to give Dems another district so the fact that they an F is bs. Especially when a state like Maryland is rated higher

LA has an A rating for partisan fairness. They got an F because it’s still racially biased
