I can’t tell which friend is too woke in the situation where I’m being called insensitive for saying I can’t really bring myself to feel bad for a local hiker who fell off a waterfall and died after ignoring the signs that say not to hop over the railing

that’s a situation in which i go “that’s rough buddy” since i literally have studied how proper signage at outdoor recreation sites can deter undesirable behaviors from visitors.

I would feel bad if it was a little kid or something but with a grown ass man I’m not even on “that’s rough buddy” I’m like “this careless asshole did some dumb shit that not only got him killed, but got him killed in front of at least 50 people including a number of children by who I’ve seen in that state park viewing that waterfall. I feel bad for whatever poor 10 year old is fucked up for life from seeing some dude fall 177 feet and die in front of him because kids swim under that waterfall
