My problem is when we have no idea who comes across our border. I completely agree that most are hard working and great people. The issue is the fact that there are also child/human traffickers and drug smugglers that take advantage of a weak border. The vast majority of the drugs like fentanyl that come into our country come from our southern border. I’m all for making it easier for immigrants to come over I think that’s an amazing thing but issue arise when we can’t know who is coming over.
Would you leave your door unlocked and advertise that you have a place for homeless people in need to stay? They need a safe place to stay and food in their belly. Don’t worry you can kick them out but only after they have pulled a knife on you, raped you, or drugged you (or all three).
Drug trafficking: absolutely. Human trafficking? Hardly. It’s basically all labor trafficking but it’s happening TO the undocumented and not them doing it to us. How about we make the process to immigrate into the USA easier so they aren’t being taken advantage of and we can check their belongings more carefully to ensure no drugs are being trafficked through.
We create homeless shelters for people who need a safe place to stay but have no equivalent for immigrants that need a safe place to escape to until they care approved as citizens. I truly think most Mexican immigrants we receive in the usa should be classified as refugees and at least be granted temporary asylum until further background checks can be done.
If you want to ever mention human trafficking related to the usa, most of it is consumed by the usa more than other countries, like sex trafficking and products made with labor trafficking. And our rates of human trafficking within the usa has been increasing exponentially for the past few years in every state and we have horrible laws about it. Like genuinely people being trafficked can’t go to police bc they will get more jail time than their traffickers.
I honestly hate hate HATE it when people bring up human trafficking with immigration because the usa government is trafficking them WAY more than any kind of trafficking that might happen (which most of the “trafficking” undocumented immigrants is lying about their identity to get into the country or smuggling someone in, not labor or sex trafficking which are the only actual types of human trafficking)
Like trafficking doesn’t mean transporting or smuggling in this case, legally in the usa it means fraud, coercing, or in some way forcing someone into sexual acts or labor. Drug trafficking is saying the movement of, human trafficking does not require/mean any movement or transportation. But so many people say “human trafficking” when they mean smuggling.
Sorry to interrupt your sperg out but the government removing someone isn’t trafficking, the cartel making people pay them to sneak them across the border is, or they force those women/children to commit sexual acts which account for all of the trafficking cases because that’s what trafficking is, you’re conflating it with fraud because that’s is a charge, no one is charged with being trafficked.
Paying someone to sneak you across a border is not human trafficking at all. Forced prostitution is absolutely sex trafficking but that is very very uncommon for undocumented immigrants to be sex trafficked by other undocumented immigrants as opposed to American citizens trafficking them, so don’t act like American citizens are at risk of these crimes when it’s the undocumented that are the ones suffering and being exploited.
I can agree with a lot of what you said. That being said there is a proper way to seek asylum in our country there are still steps to take. People can come into the US first and then they have a year to fill out the proper form. I think this should be more easily known which it would be if we had a more secure border. I’m all for immigration and people seeking asylum in the US. We are a very powerful country and need to do our part to protect those in need. But we need to know who is coming in.
The whole point is that we haven’t been honoring asylum for Mexican immigrants. Once they get into the usa to fill out the paperwork with immigration lawyers, they get denied and detained. They many times have to face immigration court alone, like without any lawyers or advice, and this is happening not only to adults but CHILDREN being alone in court against lawyers trying to defend why they should be allowed to stay in the usa. It’s actually a horrible system.
