The only reason people still support/defend the confederacy is because they are incredibly ignorant/under educated on the subject.

That’s actually literally why they ratified the 13th amendment- to ensure the south wasn’t able to prosper economically and risk growth (and ofc slavery is bad, but notice how they didn’t completely abolish it and left a very convient “except” in there)
