
I mean on the one hand I agree with you, in a primary setting there should be an easy way to get a better candidate That said, if (emphasis on if) this guy is the best chance dems have at taking a seat then unfortunately it might be necessary. The GOP has shown that people don’t care about candidate optics on controversy anymore they just care about rizz or whatever
Don’t forget the Trump admin is pushing for even laxer regulations on campaign contributions than what citizens United already got. So in the future things will be even more swayed by who can raise the most money. But I do agree, American politics is no longer about who the best candidate is. It’s about vibes, marketability, etc. we got lucky with Obama actually being a good politician too, but he was the start of the cult of personality shift in politics
