There a bunch of companies who are in self preservation mode, Disney being the poster child. Not to excuse what they’re doing but I bet there’s been countless board meetings where they discuss how they can get in the good graces of the president and not have a target on their back. It’s not right, but it’s what they’re doing. Dollars and cents.

Every major corporation is bending the knee to Trump (and licking his boots and sucking his dick then making him a sandwich after) because he’s made it abundantly clear that he’ll come after them for political reasons

I get it, but I guess I don’t see why. They have the money to deal with this. Unlike Paramount I’m assuming Disney isn’t pursuing a merger that needs a green light from the FCC. I guess their legal team has just said that this is a gray area they don’t want to touch?

Oh fucking hell. This is because Nexstar (which owns a ton of local TV and radio stations) wants to acquire Tegna and the FCC needs to sign off on that. So the FCC went after Nexstar to pressure Disney/ABC
