If you think the current social position the confederate flag sits in is a thing we should be emulating with our current flag, you’re a fool. Have you ever lived in a place where they still fly the confederate flag? Because I have. It’s not as much of a social faux pas as you think. So what? We just have a new flag and the old one takes the place of the confederate or maga flag? No fuck that, they can’t have the American flag. It’s ours, not theirs.

It’s not a hate symbol dude. It’s a national flag. Every single national flag is and always will be soaked in tears of joy and blood. It’s how it works. Should every country that’s committed an atrocity under a flag change their flag? Why? It doesn’t rectify the tragedy.

The swastika didn’t used to be a hate symbol either. If I see someone flying an American flag I assume they’re a fascist and I’m sure you do the same. Unfortunately we have to accept that

The swastika is very much still a symbol of peace. My Indian grandparents have one drawn on their door. We don’t care what sensitive white people think because it was OUR symbol first before it was stolen by bad people. Reclaim.
