What could Mamdani do that would be more socialist? He’s a local mayor so it’s not like he could just seize all housing, he’s done anti-free-market things like rent freeze though

If freezing rent on government subsidized apartments is anti-free market then brother the market should not be free

Well sure but it is pretty definitionally government intervention if they limit how much you can charge for rent I don’t know if that’s “socialism” though

But again it’s not like he can exactly just take all the houses. what else could he do that’s more socialist than freezing the rent or govt owned groceries as just a municipal local official?
