I just hope everyone realizes this is a perfect example of a straw man argument and this graph is NO WHERE NEAR accurate

So I take it you just took the very end point then drew a straight line thinking that the stock market moves in a straight line lol

It’s a trendline.

In the long term they kinda do, unless there is a major economic disruption

It’s drawing a straight line in Apple photo editor not creating a trend line. If you wanted one of those you’d have to do some linear regression models which Ik you definitely didn’t do

Well yeah, it relies heavily on how you draw it. But still, you acknowledge the differing slopes

Yea my slopes that I drew show the markets as even now

I’ll concede they may very well intercept. I don’t think it’s right now

I’m making fun of yall for just drawing lines sending me more pictures of you just drawing random fucking lines isn’t gunna help you lol

That’s what literally any market analyst does

Oh yea definitely not the traffifs have hurt us and we haven’t fully recovered from them especially the ones today but in the long term it definitely will intercept if not go higher due to the tariffs providing us with better trade deals

No, it’s not.

Market analysts do not get a rule and draw a straight line in Apple editor lmao. They use so many different mathematical models such as linear regression

My guy… linear regression means regressing it to a linear line 😭

Yes, those are straight lines. No, they were not drawn by hand on an iPhone guesstimating, they used models such as linear regression.

Yes, I know it’s not that simple. For example, the ones on the cover are moving lines of resistance. Notice how the chart either touches or just barely crosses the line before a line switch? That’s the line of resistance.

My guy… drawing a straight line on your iPhone photo editor is not what linear regression is. Do you even know what matplotlib is?

Matlab not matplotlib

Bro do you really think I meant what I drew is 100% accurate?? I’m literally just showing a quick resemblance. You said it looked nothing like that originally.

You’re not gonna use MATLAB for financial modeling lmao

That still looks very similar to me. Changing the slope a bit doesn’t mean the pattern isn’t there

Yes but that’s one of the most popular things to use for linear regression something you clearly don’t know much about

And I’m an engineering major with a minor in physics (and geoscience and astronomy). I’ve taken graduate level courses on macro scale corporate valuation. Multiple others on large scale ($200,000,000+) project management. While my expertise is not directly in finance, I understand the technicals far more than the average person. Perhaps this is simply a case of underestimating each other
