Fascinating how the guys who go “not all men” every time a woman talks about a bad experience are the same dudes who generalize all of feminism as “man-hating” based on like a screenshot of a Twitter post.

I will say there’s often some light between these two sides. Legit think there are a lot of progressive-ish men who consider themselves feminists but get their feelings hurt when women say terrible things about men in general as if they’re a monolith. Cause they’re like ‘well I’m doing all I can, why should I get clumped in with those guys?’. Not saying getting your feelings hurt is the worst thing in the world but there is some nuance here

^obligatory “men are statistically dangerous, it makes sense to protect yourself as a woman and you protect yourself by generalizing” statement. I do get that dynamic, not saying it’s necessarily invalid. Just talking about the rhetorical side of things

I’m a man so I get what you’re saying yeah.

At the same time, though, I do think the people who are the most vocal about it often end up being the misogynistic ones. They want to “score easy points” or whatever.

Maybe sometimes but I don’t think always or even often. I mean I’m gonna call myself out here but there are some of these comments that I’ll comment on, more for the conversation than anything else. But I do think it’s not always helpful to defend making terrible statements about all men, then expect all good men to be fine with the erroneous and offensive label/accusation.

And I’m certainly not perfect but I feel like I’m about as far left / feminist as I know how to be. Sorta splitting hairs cause it’s grey but I just don’t think it’s the best rhetoric to use sometimes.

Or maybe I just got my feelings hurt 😅 but that should hurt your feelings tho yk? Nobody should be cool with being called a monster if they aren’t one. I think the debate is just how collectively sensitive we should or shouldn’t be towards that
