I can never truly hate his All Star Batman and Robin though because it did give us the scene where he paints literally everything in his lair yellow just to ragebait Green Lantern, even making himself a glass of lemonade just to double down, and it’s so amazingly fucking stupid that I can’t help but love it. One of the unintentionally funniest things I’ve ever read from DC.

It’s very obviously his substance abuse and a growing affinity for right-wing turn of the century politics that drove him off the deep end. He used to draw great, now he draws like an 8th grade art student. He used to write stories with some political complexity that drew interesting parallels to our own, now he writes exclusively self-insert 80’s hypermasculine tough guy slop with the occasional touch of bigotry. He’s just fallen off entirely.
