i love that the conservative mind cannot comprehend that “eat the rich” means ‘tax the people who make enough money to end world hunger more money’ & NOT ‘tax your neighbor who can afford to send their kid to college more money’

They're dumb as fuck. What do you expect?

People really just have no grasp of the scale of numbers, like literally your entire town combined doesn’t even come close to the “rich” we’re talking about

To fund the same social services like they have in other countries, you can’t just tax the billionaires, the tax burden goes up for everyone significantly which politicians are hesitant to admit.

You can’t only tax the 0.1%. They make about 11% of the countries income (when you include capital gains), but much of that is perpetually reinvested so the government will need to make up for that difference. Ultimately most welfare states have to tax pretty much everyone.

If this is like a communist sense, eat the rich means the owners and people like this still work for a living

Everyone pays their fair share but them, the wealth distribution gap is worse than that of the French Revolution. This does not work, and if MAGA wants to find a way to save/make money it’s by far the easiest choice to make.

The top 0.1% do pay the highest percent of income in taxes. The idea they aren’t paying tax isn’t really supported.

The highest percentage IN THEORY, in practice they can spend 2mil on a way to avoid paying 2bil in taxes

And that 2mil goes to private companies, not the government

Yeah, the top 0.1% ‘pay the most’...on paper income they can’t stash. Meanwhile, they park billions in untaxed assets, borrow against stocks tax free, and write off private jets as business expenses. Jeff Bezos can pay less in taxes than his assistant. So no, they’re not ‘overpaying’, they’re playing the system so hard they should come with patch notes. This is like feeling bad for a casino because they had to give someone their chips back. FOH

Realistically nobody should be a billionaire, we used to tax the rich 90% of their income after a certain number. The idea people have that they can one day become a billionaire is laughable, why defend someone that you cannot even wrap your mind around their wealth. 1 billion dollars is unfathomable to 99% of people, is unobtainable unless you are already a multi-millionaire

I honestly don't care if someone is a billionaire...pay your fucking taxes.
