as a STEM person, i don’t either since it’s been studied long enough to be trusted science & measurements, but from what I understand… they don’t have very much merit within social settings. additionally, the general layperson probably will not get their IQ assessed or measured *by qualified means* in their lifetime. I’ve only noticed how frequently someone arguing from a conservative viewpoint will declare their IQ to their opponent when they’re having dispute of facts/concepts…

or they just declare the entirety of their opposition to have low IQ (or simply lower than they are), and then they act as if they are above their opponents in a debate due to that assumption… As the saying goes, it is the wise man who knows that he knows very little…

that’s what I mean, though. I’ve noticed conservatives falling into logical fallacies while simultaneously holding IQ-level to be a measurement without nuance and something that can be measured with a quiz online or something… i’m just finding that fascinating lately that they’re holding the IQ-level so closely

truuuuu. IQ test doesn’t ask me how to climb a tree or tap it for sap to cook into sugar, nor does it ask me what singing sand sounds like.
