Idk I think it’s more how they do it now, it’s so cringy and blatantly obvious which takes away from the story. Like that whole woman scene from endgame was so hard to watch 😭

Gay people don’t usually make being gay their whole personality? I’m not sure if I understand your point.

Do you actually think that people putting their pride flags up is tantamount to making it their whole personality?

Are straight people a marginalized group?

By definition, yes.

For the first two, because they’re marginalized. For the last one, that doesn’t happen.

… because they’re a marginalized group? Groups like maga and others around the world continue to suppress them. They should be able to express themselves any time of the year. Pride month is set up so that they can express themselves in spite of the adversarial attitude of those around them. Also, only religion is putting ideas on kids.

When straight people have hate crimes committed on them, I’ll hear you out on this.

Pride month isn’t only for homosexual men btw. Or do they all just fall under the banner of “gay” in your mind?

Holy run on sentences, Batman! (I actually am struggling to understand this, but I’ll do my best) LGBTQ+ aren’t promoting sterility, where tf did you get that? There are plenty of queer people with families out there to disprove what you’re saying. LGBTQ+ people also don’t want to destroy other people’s families. They’re just trying to live their lives the way they want to, without hurting anyone. Your thought process scares me.

So what about the flag? Gay children exist, this is literally a fact. It’s good to teach kids that being gay is okay, to avoid the self hatred that’s likely come if they’re taught the conservative view that being gay is “unnatural”. Well, I could shoot back with the fact that many trans men can get pregnant, but I somehow doubt you’d accept them as men. Adoption is still taking care of a kid and raising a family, do you disagree?

Did you really just try and compare being gay to bestiality? Animals can’t consent, numb nuts.

Incest, at least in most species, is counterproductive to creating healthy offspring that will later reproduce. So I’m unsure why you’re bringing it up in a conversation about what’s “natural” as it doesn’t really align with natural selection.

Ok my comment got deleted. Ppl hate it now cuz it’s been overused. I’m totally fine with watching a whole educational video about how should we treat minorities just like everyone else. I am one myself. But gaming companies making minority characters without any good reason (for example, it fits the character) and shits like that is just politicians stuffing propaganda inside ppls brain. Just like unskippable ads. If there’s anyone to blame, it should be those politicians who overemphasize it.

Does there need to be “a good reason” for a video game character to be a minority? A video game character can just… be black, for example. No reason needed.

People are gay irl for no reason too. And trans. And black. And disabled Your problem isn’t that the characters exist for no reason, it’s that you have to be aware of their existence and can’t avoid it

If that’s the case then the complain isn’t the media being woke, it’s that the media is poorly made. Therefore people should complain about that, but they don’t. They bitch and moan every time a gay character is on screen.

Cause it feels like it’s being shoved down your throat. The media isn’t bad, except for those ‘woke’ cases - again, take endgame for example. Amazing movie, clearly forced scene to show women empowerment, takes away from the amazing movie.

It’s because you’re an adult watching movies for children… so of course the moral preaching feels ‘obvious’ when the target audience is people aged 7-14

i’ll give some benefit of the doubt to this guy bc while diversity in media matters, disney in particular is REALLY bad at it. esp w their lazy live action remakes casting poc, when real inclusivity would just be making a new story with a poc character. princess and the frog is great because it’s (semi) original and incorporates her race into the plot of the story seamlessly. the marvel girl scene was hard to watch i will admit but not for it being dei shit, just bad writing.

a lot of newer inclusive movies/shows are often given less effort and fall flat. brave new world was slop wriring but anthony mackie killed it w his acting for what he was given. iron heart isn’t out yet, but i hope they give her the moment she deserves bc she (in comics) is far from diet iron man, but w the lazy writing poc/female characters get, they might just do that. it gives the studio cause to not do inclusive projects bc they get bad feedback.
