I know it’s an excuse that’s been made fun of when people say “that wasn’t real communism” but it should be noted that when Marx wrote his manifesto it was while he lived in industrial Germany. It wasn’t meant for rural nations like Russia or China.
it was written in london and brussels, not germany. and marx believed that communist revolution would eventually occur in less developed regions too, because global/ imperialistic capitalism seeks to force them towards industrialization and advanced commodity exchange

This is actually a really good point that I’ve heard historians talk about. Marx’s rhetoric was very much about the urban working class, it took extensive modification to retrofit it for primarily rural nations.
