because the city is amazing, the culture is amazing (that santa fucking deserved it btw), and even if there’s a lot of problems from national policy and our past 3 mayors being absolute dirtbags, there’s still so much potential. we made edgar allan poe hang up paranormal poetry and shift to the chaos he was surrounded by because it’s always been a batshit insane city, but it also birthed democracy in the modern age
