I obviously do not support what Israel is doing, free Palestine, but jesus christ there is genuinely so much antisemitism online right now and it’s deadass bc of the Israeli government. I feel so awful for non Zionist Jews

I’m not going to blame the Israeli gov for all of it, white supremacists have always been like this, but the recent stuff from them has definitely not made things better

it’s deliberate. the conflation of criticism of israel and all jewish people has a twofold purpose. one to directly attack opposition to israel’s behavior. and secondly, to essentially encourage antisemitism around the world, because a lot of israel’s legitimacy comes from being the “safest place” for jewish people. of course the reality is that the safest place in the world to be jewish has been in america likely since the final partition of poland since we never had need for

jewish emancipation in the first place and have had freedom of religion enshrined in the system of government since almost day one. meanwhile the israeli government does basically everything it can to sabotage peace with its neighbors and in the MENA region generally
