“sometimes the curtains are just blue!!” yeah, and sometimes the curtains are blue for a reason. you’re allowed to enjoy things without looking deeper into them but you are not allowed to hand wave deeper meaning because you’re “tired” of thinking

everything exists in the context of the world around it. the curtains are blue for a reason, even if that reason isn’t personally/immediately important to YOU. you are allowed to be burnt out and exhausted by people finding deeper meaning, but that doesn’t mean people have to or should stop digging deeper. that’s literacy. that’s critical thinking.

“Part of the extension of the work you will do is, yes, focused on our young leaders and our young people, but understanding we also then have to be clear about the needs of their parents and their grandparents and their teachers and their communities, because none of us just live in a silo. Everything is in context.”
