Jobs numbers always get adjusted after the initial report. Usually not by THAT much. But there are always some delays in reporting/tabulation but I wouldn’t be surprised if staffing issues at the BLS are part of why

It’s pretty interesting that inflation figures magically change completely as soon as they started going tariffs (even though tariffs are inflationary). the federal government is just making up data at this point, and doing a sloppy job of it because they hire based on loyalty and not competence.
