It just blows my mind that we’re seeing the effects of climate change exactly as scientists have predicted for decades and right wing nut jobs are yelling about weather machines and cloud seeding

They don’t want to stop being paid by fossil fuel billionaires.

The ability and lack of action by billionaires to fix many of the climate issues they cause is depressing.

Higher rainfall, increased flooding, more devastating wildfires, more devastating hurricanes. Yes they all happened before climate change but they’re happening more frequently and climate scientists have outlined how, why, and even where they would occur decades ago

What i want to know is whats the mindset. Are they so apathetic to the world to think theyll die before it all collapses? Or do they think they can leave to another planet or live in biospheres? Like what do we think is their end of the world plan if any?

It won’t be entirely underwater, but within about 50 years the coastal areas will be almost uninhabitable due to things like flooding and increasing aquifer salinity. Also it’ll become economically unfeasible to live there since it’ll be battered by Helene-level hurricanes basically annually

Its basically annual now. But i thought they made projections showing about 30-40% of the land mass being submerged by like 2050

I think it’s Evangelicalism. This world is just a pitt stop so they don’t really care what happens to it

Ok but the point of a pit stop is u can stop and go. But like as far as we can tell, they can’t go yet. even if they manage to build massive space ships to get all the rich people off earth, where are they going to go? They cant terraform planets, and they would die in space after a long enough time. So whats the plan?
