It means that overtime white people became more and more accepting of interracial marriage, the “closing the gap” means for example (with fake numbers) that in 1968 60% white people believed in interracial marriage and 85% poc did. That “gap” is 25%. Now the gap is 3%, which pretty much means more white interracial marriages are happening

what #7 said. i would add that the "gap" is now within a "margin of error" meaning theoretically there could be no actual gap between white and non-white people's approvals of interracial marriage, which is very VERY high all around. i can't stress enough that 94% is a huge approval rating
