It’s so hilarious to me that all of the most expensive ai Image/video generators are still completely outclassed by free and open source models that people run locally on their own computers without hoarding up everybody’s water/electricity

im waiting patiently for the firesale of all the computers in data centers when the bubble pops and we realize ai is about as useful as spellcheck

Ehhh idk abt that. I think a lot of the garbage they use it for is useless but the valid use cases are already here and will become in higher demand as the useless ones fall by the wayside

As much as I hate to admit it, I learned a lot about basic coding, scripting tricks, and how to fix things I don’t understand in Linux specifically because of LLMs. Like I can’t code something by myself yet, but I can manually fix certain JavaScript issues now, whereas I didn’t even know what JavaScript was before. Also it’s pretty handy at speeding up my internet searches sometimes. Supposedly it’s a great language learning tool as well, but I haven’t personally tested that.
