
Not only was Anthony Johnson not one of the first slave owners in North America, enslavement of Africans in the Americas began all the way back in 1502 which is almost 100 years before Johnson was even born. Also just because you are able to find one example, Johnson, of a black slave owner in America is ignoring the fact that the overwhelming majority of slave owners were white
So I’m guessing you want to point out that he was a black man who in his later life owned the services of a few white indentured servants. Cool. I don’t think one example of a man who was literally an indentured servant himself negates the whole entire European slave trade and makes it a “both sides” issue lmao
