There was no substance, no strategy, and he’s lecturing people with far more experience and expertise than him on how to be a soldier

They’ll stop the ability to file whistleblower complaints and report discrimination or leadership issues anonymously

Not true, he lectured them that the mission of the department had been skewed and that the standards have lowered tremendously and that needs to stop.

And he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. He’s inventing problems that don’t actually exist. He’s a talk show host standing in front of the most experienced military leaders on the planet, telling them he knows more about their jobs than they do. He’s out of his depth

That’s sad because discrimination is so real and hurts so many people

anonymity creates a lot of false accusations and. lot of unnecessary work

Where did he say or insinuate that he knows more than them in their field?

Also, waste of time and a security risk. They have video calls for this reason. Absolutely absurd to have so many important people in the same room and announce it a week in advance for what amounted to a pep rally from Hegseth, and god knows what from Trump

The very fact that he called them together to spew ridiculous bullshit means he thinks that. He doesn’t know anything. He was a part-time officer turned news personality, attempting to lecture men with 30-40 years of experience and PHD-level education in the fields of military strategy and international security. He’s the least knowledgeable person in the room

They’ve tried for years to make it a simple email or video call and it’s never worked, this was the next best option and it cleary got the point across

The video calling works perfectly fine. The reason they wanted an in-person audience is because they both think this is an extension of their TV careers

how would a speech about the military standards falling in any way boost a TV career, like i said they have tried little reminders and they’ve all fallen through

It’s not about boosting their career. It’s about their ego. “Omg look all these people are here to see me speak!!!”

Right. Based on all of his experience and education to people in the room who have devoted their entire lives to the service.
