I had a senior professor that got all choked up about the day JFK was assassinated and was sent home from school because everyone was devastated. When someone attempted to assassinate Trump, many of us were like “what do you mean he’s not dead???”

Compared to the assassination attempts, this is the way Trump deserves to go out. Not with a bang, where he’ll turn into some unforgettable historic footnote, but a whimper, where he slowly fades into irrelevance and goes out lower than ever.
