Ok I’ve heard numerous reports and povs about this. I’m just wondering why people are saying it takes 60 votes to sort this all out and there are only 53 republicans. So wouldn’t they need democrats to vote in favor of this if all the republicans are in? It just kinda feels like democrats are dangling the shutdown and its effects in front of our faces and trying to use it as leverage to get what they want. Like they are holding out just to make a political point rather than stop the shutdown
Ok so what is stopping democrats from voting on the healthcare bill that was proposed? Like what was in that bill they don’t like so much to shut down the government for so long? You can understand why it kinda seems it’s the other way around. I read they have struck down this bill 13 times? I guess I’m wondering what is so polarizing in the bill that warrants the prolonged shutdown? Are the SNAP benefits not tied to this bill? I thought that was the correlation to them being stopped.
What exactly in the bill does that? I guess that’s just what I’m asking. I haven’t heard about the bill selling out anyone, it sounded like it was more so that democrats want to add stuff to the proposal and the republicans aren’t willing to add things and just want to address whatever was mentioned in the original document?
