I’m finishing up my degree in education and it’s the same feeling (despite knowing that I WONT get paid as much). I believe education is a human right, and I would agree that there are some people who use and overwork teachers for personal gain. Does it make them bad people? No. If people whose children are staying a little later, using snacks or school supplies, extra attention, whatever, need that help, it’s my responsibility and my duty to help. I care about my community
It’s never been about the money for the workers in thousands of jobs that are necessary for our economy and well-being. Postal workers, sanitation, agriculture, healthcare and education, safety and infrastructure, etc. It’s the governments responsibility to provide and maintain the quality of life and standards of living, and it’s more sad to me to see these jobs be shorter than argue about whether or not their service is necessary for EVERYONE
