Do you care to defend the idea that illegal immigrants are getting free healthcare at significant levels? Also republicans will only open the government if democrats agree to let healthcare subsidies expire, which will double the cost of healthcare for most poor Americans. If democrats cave right now and open the government while ceding to Republican demands, millions of Americans will have their healthcare costs double and many will simply no longer be insured. How does this Republican demand help Americans? How will an opened government that fails to care for its poorest people help anyone?

Believe me if I was calling the shots they’d be naturalized and have healthcare. But no, the people in charge have not “given” healthcare to any significant amount of immigrants. They’re especially not getting free healthcare now. Illegal immigrants pay more into the government than they take out anyway, they’re not draining our resources
