Machines still consume, but with different demands. Data centers for AI eat up electricity, air conditioning, gpu’s, and construction. If an advanced enough AI is allowed to order what it needs for itself it can become a consumer

Yup, they take actual useful products (electricity, water, etc.) and produce slop that kills the environment
