Economics majors should have projects that ACTUALLY promote REAL prosperity for common people, otherwise their degrees should be revoked as the money laundering they are

I wanna make mining space rocks possible. Not only to move mining from earth, where mining is inherently environmentally invasive but brutally necessary, to a place with no environment to impact - but to promote an actual primary sector economy inside of space to incentive permanent human habitation and exploration (kinda like how the Americas were discovered to trade spice, but instead ended up with the largest transcontinental gold/silver trade (robbery) in history

You're dreaming of modernizing company towns where air is a subscription both in space and on earth, huh?

Nah the end goal is to fund helium mining from the lunar soil - its lack of atmosphere allows ionized particles from the solar wind to get trapped in its soil layers. You’d need about 25 tons of helium to replace 3 years worth of fossil fuel consumption. That’s like 500,000,000,000 tons. So, you have what amounts to a multi trillion dollar industry to mine 25 tons of product. Very high profit incentive.

Which, I get is a scary prospect for power. Which is why I want to do it. Not because I want the power, but because I know that I don’t want it, and have an active desire to distribute that power to the people. Not white people, not Americans, all people. Distributed globally by a ratio of population and land area.

So the ideal business model is to fund operations with 0.1% of total profit, and distribute the 99.9% to global growth efforts. Not bound by politics, but by genuine need.

Let users of the energy provided by us get to vote on where our aid efforts go. Ensure that the means for voting and counting the votes are appropriately distributed - which ideally would be phones to connect the world together outside of the company decision making
