Extreme dishonesty from the federal government has me feeling sympathy towards the tinfoil hat folks who have always said that you can’t trust a single thing the government says. Cause now I can’t trust the CDC to publish health advice based on science or data.gov to publish real numbers. Fucked up times man 😔

I always treated the CDC with some skepticism and checked to make sure some external doctors (who were reputable and actual doctors, not quacks) agreed with what they were saying tbh. I think data.gov should probably be considered reliable, unless you have a specific reason to believe that that agency’s data is faked

I’m just saying that maga extremists are becoming more and more embedded in those agencies and are doing their best to undermine their missions. I mean the cdc (in official statements anyway) is already backing up rfk’s claims about vaccines

It should be reliable but there’s no ability to just take the federal governments word that the data is probably accurate. If everyone in the maga camp is willing to lie about anything then I can’t really take any federal government info at face value.

And yes I can just do more research and likely find the truth but sometimes I’m lazy or busy and just want to be able to look up simple information without worrying that it’s completely fabricated by partisan extremists
