I wonder if the Romans ever lied about the origins of Christian people/beliefs/holidays? 🤔 (Christmas is literally the day of a pagan holiday, whereas Jesus was more likely born in summer)

i mean they just proved there was a blood moon in April in 33AD when they said Jesus died and scripture described the blood moon. sure you gotta take some of it with a grain of salt but stories do carry our history

There’s blood moons every few months. Jesus dying is an observable event with multiple witnesses

The Bible isn’t history

Some/all of the texts contained in the Bible are historical texts. But, it’s not an objective understanding of history in the modern sense. The texts were curated and translated millennia ago, by an educated elite who could control the narrative. Far too little people give the original texts the historical scrutiny it deserves. Lots of misunderstandings in religion. Lots of truth too

About the only thing biblical scholars can agree is history and actually happened is Jesus being a real person, not him being born, not what he did, just his existence

It makes sense too because Jesus is apart of the other Abrahamic religions as well

I mean yes and no. The major miracles there’s lots of debate, but as far as a record of people Jesus met and places he went to there’s more consensus

There’s debate about most of the events surrounding Jesus tbf, the only truly general consensus is that he existed
