What bugs me about a lot of hard leaners (particularly on the right side) is how they can’t acknowledge someone not being completely gung-ho for a “side”. Like if you don’t fit into a box they will force you into one.

On a similar note, from my experience the other version of this is hard leaners assuming that if you don’t have X or Y set of values, you must be a spineless centrist with no beliefs instead of accounting for the possibility that you might wholeheartedly believe in an ideology that isn’t specifically theirs or ‘the enemies’.

Exactly! It’s so simple but so idiotic that there are people that see ideologies as these set in stone hardline rules and not fluid ideas.
